The closer situation for the Tigers has floored me since last fall. Jose’ Valvarde had been prefect in every Save chance in 2011. 2012 he was solid but wore down at season end and was totally gassed in the playoff . All the sudden people were complaining about his weight( I guess it only fat if you’re not pitching well) and antics (again they are seen as delightfully colorful). So they do not re-sign him thinking they had better options in house then an “over the hill” Papa’ Grande’ All winter he remained un signed . They tried 3 pitchers in a closer committee before signing a still free agent Jose`. He was awesome last night. Should have signed him in the winter lol.
