Start here

While it is important to celebrate the  debut of Jackie Robinson as first African-American in modern MLB  it is important to remember he had to endure  doubts and taunts from fans and other players without lashing out or MLB would have pulled the plug on intergration If MLB integration failed Civil rights for all minorities would have been greatly slowed. Jackie would go on to join the civil rights movement often going to places where bombs and crosses had been burned to speak. He lost his son to drugs and Life long stress aged him quickly. The Jackie Robinson Foundation helps people who have over come challenges go to college, because as Jackie said, “A life is unimportant except in the impact it has on other lives.” Jackie certainly continues to have an impact.
