You helped the yuong Mets be champs
threw your lone no no for my Reds
scored your 300th win for Southsiders
and mentored the yuong Redsox staff
and lent your inteleigence and grace to the NBC booth
before you found your passion for wine making
Always conducting your with class and Grace you chose to step away from the public as Lyme disease atacked your body and your mind started failing you.
So may you go to our Lord vineyard and drink with him anew from the fruit of his vine.
We will remeber Tom Seaver even as he forgets
I was very sad to learn that Tom Seaver will no longer make public appearances due to his dementia diagnosis. Tom like millions of American is slowly feeling his memory and mental abilties fade away. Sadly there may come a time when his baseball memories will leave him.
We fans will remember

The greater challenge wil be for the Seaver family as they have to watch The Tom they knew slowly disapear. Having watched My Grandpa and Great uncle go down that path into the fog. It is so hard watching some one who is there in body but fading away in mind. I pray for them.
